December, 2002 iCE Pack

This Month We Bring You...
Interview with Davinci
... and as usual, our beloved newsletter

1. We have some new artists to welcome to iCE yet again! This month we're proud to include Knives & Green Water to the group. KGW joins us after winning our contest where he sold the most magazine subscriptions door to door. He has a really fresh art style and we look forward to all of his future contributions to the group!

Also this month is Primal_r, who joins the group after a long and fruitful time participating on tiles.ice.org. He's been really patient and dedicated to getting in and it's finally paid off. We're very lucky to have him, and we have high hopes that he'll manage to eat the most marshmallows at next year's New Year's bash!

2. Check it out! As promised, this month we have an interview with everyone's favorite master engraver, DaVinci. Being one of our "old farts", he has a bit of wisdom to share, even if he thinks out music just sounds like a bunch of hiss and popping!

3. As of this month, Gecko decided she is going to start being sarcastic and bitter.

4. Owing it all to a terrible fear of Jombogan, Helm accidentally realized that he was in fact a member of the group and promptly started submitting art. Hence you see the cool pixel art in this pack. If you have any complaints, talk to Gecko.

5. We have something special this month! MrMister is releasing a Game Boy Advance intro he coded, along with the full source code. If you're not lucky enough to have the equipment to load roms onto your GBA, you can download one of the Game Boy Advance emulators and check out his intro. Nice work, MrMister, and it's great that you've giving out the code.

6. Farmy, in an astounding move, continued to keep things running smoothly on our servers. That guy is really cool.

Re: joining??
First, learn to present yourself as an educated person, then go to the "about" section on this site.

UD3KA710N R001Z M4N!!!

Btw, are there any iCE members who are not artists?
slothy
Re: Re: Re: joining??
Very few. In the long-ago time of iCE, we had coordinators, couriers, "communications" people, etc. Nowadays we're a bit more efficient, and so the non-artists are limited to people like farmy, who runs our servers. We also have coders who are working on the web stuff, but some might consider code to be art.

iCE Draw, Tombstone Artist, ACiDDraw (Was: Only elite people idle on eye-are-cee!)
Naturally, all of those editors can be downloaded from the ACiD Artpacks Archive:

ftp://ftp.artpacks.acid.org/pub/artpacks/programs/dos/editors/

If you want to use an ANSI editor which is still being actively developed, then I can only recommend Empathy 0.97-PUBLIC Beta.
