April, 2002 iCE Pack

  • Interview with Gecko
  • 'Tigress Tutorial' by Leonardo
  • ... and of course, our beloved newsletter"); ?>

  • 1. No huge news this month. Nobody joined or quit. But we do have some awesome ansi love again this month! Big thanks to Trip, who will be heading up our Ansi division and breathing some new life into it hopefully!

    2. Check out our interview with Gecko this month, where we pry into the deep dark secrets of her life, or at least we ask her what laundry detergent tastes like.

    3. Also be sure to see our tutorial from Leonardo this month! Leonardo teaches us how to find out for certain if your teddy bear is truly in love with you. We salute him for being proud enough to stand up and admit this in public, and wish him well.

    4. Couple of quilts from tiles.ice.org this month. First off, we have what tiles was really born for, the Salvador Dali Tribute quilt. It turned out really well, so don't miss it! Next we have part 1 of our Comic quilt, which was worked on for some time and we finally decided to end it there. It might be continued in the future though!

    5. Root88, bless his soul, laboured for weeks to find as many old iCE ansis as possible. We can now share them with you in all their glory. These are ansis that were released prior to the first iCE Pack in August, 1992. For those who aren't familiar with that long ago, iCE was formed in 1990, but the practice of releasing packs didn't come about until late 1992. All the art that was done between 1990 and August of 1992 was just put on BBS's for people to see, and most were lost forever. But we have managed to find a good number of them, and so we can now allow you to peruse them. As a note, it's interesting to see how far ANSI has come, and that's as political as I get, folks ;)

You can view them at http://www.ice.org/pack.php?year=1992&month=7

    Fantastic pack!
Just wanted to say my usual bit about how much all you folks rule. This was another fantastic pack! My apologies for taking a couple extra days to get the pack out, I've just been busy with work and life. But the pack is just spectacular, congrats to everyone in iCE! You rock! Leonardo, great tutorial, and Geck, great interview!

I think your on the wrong website, this is an art site.

    Re: Re: Newbs
It's just a front! I think Quicksilver stumbled onto our well-kept secret hidden hacking community. Those 6,300 tiles and 4,500 pieces of art are just there to throw people off our true purpose! hehe...

Re: WHERE CAN I GET THIS PIC!!!
I'll just attach the pic to that email so you can easily steal ice artist's work. That is why we put the pics on the web in the first place.

    Re: Hi everybody
Hi phb! I looked at your image, and it's very good! I like your design and colors, maybe just add some more detail to it.

www.ice.org is a website to show off artwork by the members of iCE. To post artwork here, you must first apply to ice and get accepted into the group. It's not a public artwork forum like Sijun and such (they're great at what they do, we don't want to try to compete with them). tiles.ice.org is our project site for doing large-scale collaboration with anyone who wants to take part. The sites themselves are quite seperate though in their purpose, and it is a bit confusing.

    Re: Re: Re: Hi everybody
I think no... it is a full 2d photoshop paint, and i don't use 3d tools like 3dMax as well... :( i tried to use it or other similar application but i don't have much time to spend on it, it's only a hobby for me..
