January, 2002 iCE Pack
1. Happy first 2002 pack! Here's some great art from January to please your
nostrils and wiggle your toenails. It turns out that in our contract with
Steven Stahlberg, we agreed to let him sponsor a pack at some point, and he
had his agent call us to let us know that he wanted to have this pack. So
welcome to the Official Steven Stahlberg Pack! We have a fantastic
interview with Steven, and he contributed a handfull of gorgeous images.
2. Also this month, ANSI! Thanks to Mongi and Trip we have two ansis full of
tasty ansi goodness! It's so much fun to see ansi again!
3. Only one quilt this month from those crazy kooks over at tiles.ice.org.
We serve up the "Mean Green Tiling Machine" this month. Next month I hope
we'll have our Tribute to H. R. Giger quilt finished...
4. We have a great tutorial from Gecko this month! She did a cool combo of
two shorter tutorials. One is a tutorial on how to draw the night sky, and
the other is a tutorial that explains how to draw eyes. The latter is
probably more useful to advanced artists, the former is probably acceptable
for all ages!
5. Old ansi folks, check out www.bbsdocumentary.com. Slothy filled three
hours of video this month being interviewed, and Jason Scott (the
filmmaker) is looking to interview other prominent art scene folks for a
special segment entirely about the art scene. Hopefully we'll (eventually)
get a great look at the rich history of the art scene from this interesting
project.
6. Remember that some of us hang out on irc, just waiting for you to come
visit so you can be overwhelmed by our disgusting and bizarre
conversations. Hit irc.ice.org #ice and #tiles, irc.deviantart.com #ice,
or EFnet #ice to chat with us.
Hoping all your resolutions have failed,
Slothy and Root88

I just wanted to say thanks for another great pack everyone! I must apologize for the delay in the pack, it's entirely my fault. Although this pack doesn't quite have the quantity of the last pack, the quality is there and we need to give our artists a rest every now and then :) The interview is really awesome, and Gecky's tutorial is just plain awesome. I'm in awe of her skills!
I'm as proud as ever of this group. iCE rules.

Great work everybody! Fantastic art from Mr. Stahlberg. Don't stop now folks, get crackin' on February! Quick, quick, it's almost gone! ;))
Don't listen to slothy, he's just trying to make me feel better. :)
Damn, this is one of the most novel sites and one of the best uses of the internet that I have seen in ages. I have great respect for all those who have posted tiles in the very varied quilts, keep up the excellent work.
wow, it's cool to see ansi in the ice pack again.. *sniff* .. sort of makes me want to doodle again, maybe i'll break out one of the dozen or so half finished ansis i've got on my hd and wrap one up for the next pack (AND get myself back on the active member list :).
good job on the pack guys. ice rocks.
:misfit:

Whats a guy gotta do to get a comfermation e-mail to know if he is likly to be accepted into iCE or not? :P www.reprise.com/miked
It just takes a little time to tabulate all the votes. I wouldn't worry if I were you, you have some great art. Please be patient.
I was on a nostalgic trip about the old demo scene, klicked a thousand links
and found you. It took me breath and I nearly forgott that I was collecting links first to look into them later. So I came back to try the archive you mentioned:http://www.bbsdocumentary.com, but, how sad, I recieved a 404 :-(
Is that documentary still existing? Under any other URL, or is it gone?
Best Regards

Hi son,

RULES... hm well yea... bored
Okay, it's getting a little redundant now. It's only cool when it hasn't been said in a week or so. 'Cause then Slothy's like, Wow! I haven't heard that in a while! Thanks, man! But now the poor guy is just being bombarded with 'slothy rules' statements. :|
Yeah, how'd you like it if you were constantly being told you ruled? You'd be pretty sick of it I'm sure. It's like being a hollywood celebrity; sooner or later you get tired of signing autographs. I should know, of course because I starred as a potted plant in Lord of the Rings. Now people won't leave me alone ;)
i was bored.. hm.. do want me to apologise?
lol, I think that would be for the best :D
On your knees! BEG for forgiveness!
