This tile (so far) has not been very well recieved. Could any of you suggest areas for improvement? Is it the lens flare filter that you don't especially care for?

I gave it a four but if I had to guess, perhaps people don't like relatively empty tiles?? There does appears to be a slight linear edge to the left side of the star, maybe that's it.
True
People tend to vote down "empty" tiles, although a well blended tile with out a center focus, or loud theme, improves the quilt overall in many cases, as in this one. With this blending is great, helps the quilt overall, I give it a 5 for those reasons!
