this is a beautiful tile, valacar. Ahh... how I miss the old demoscene days.

Re: gorgeous
Thanks =) I coulda done more with it, especially the background, but it was one of those tiles that extended over two days and I just couldn't pick up where I left off.

Also, it was demoscene insprired, but I didn't quite pull it off that look I was goin' after. If you've ever seen those logos (I'm sure Slothy has) that twist and turn all over and have a crazy perspective...sorta graffiti-ish....that's what I was goin' after in a way.

Oh and another short note....this was a pretty huge photoshop project, even though it doesn't seem all that complicated. I used roughly 30 layers, 20 paths, and 25 channels.

Re: Re: gorgeous
Even if I should I'll use as little layers, paths and channels. Could you tell me roughly how you created this tile and maybe put the .psd file online (if it's not too large) I'm really curious about how and why you used all those layers, paths and channels.

Well, basically I like to keep each part of my image on a seperate layer so I can manipulate it later, and also for an "undo feature" because I use photoshop 4.01 which only has one undo (I have played with 5.x and 6.x, but they're bloated/slow and filled with stuff I don't need, like the web shit).

As for the PSD file of my tile, I'll put it on my web page...it's small, only about 240k. It's two files (there's 4 PSD files actually, but the other two files don't have many changes), and it's also not the finished tile since I didn't save a PSD at the end...guess I forgot. BTW, don't bother counting all the layers/channels/paths ...I removed a few uneeded ones along the way, but there's still quite a few in there =)
