Text is hard to blend and therefore should be avoided.
Also, don't just smudge down your edges. Try to actually continue the shapes and themes you are given as well as the colours.

Oooh, and I forgot to mention - be careful about your borders. You've got one of them big evil black lines at the bottom. This is something to be avoided at all costs.
