I got the impression the stars on my neighbors tile were a little brighter, looks like I over did it on mine. Oh well, live and learn...

man, I can never draw good hands. They haunt me like... like... Michael Jackson's nose. But anyways, one thing you can do to make hands look more realistic is to have the fingers curled to different amounts. Nobody every has all their fingers parallel to each other - if you just make the smallest joint of the pinky rotated about 90 degrees counterclockwise and then interpolate the other two fingers, it ends up looking not half bad sometimes.
