Garsh.
Man, I worked pretty hard on this one. I'd really appreciate some criticism from the more experienced tilers, please ... I honestly thought it would score a little higher.

Re: Garsh.
You can change easily your vote for a 4 or a 5 ;)...
Good job... 5!!! See you soon on mainquilters...

Well, the score is coming up ... I am a very happy boy. Thanks for the responses, it really means a lot!

great
I think it looks really good, especially the blending. Maybe some people voted low because they thought that you didn't draw the tiger yourself.

Ah, I see.
That didn't occur to me. No, it's all mine (from a photo reference). I didn't copy it or steal it or trace it or anything like that. Photoshop & Wacom, as I imagine most of the art here is produced.

Another tile I have submitted is much more "fantasy" based, perhaps that will go over a bit better when it appears.

I need to add more details to my tiles as well, I think ... a lot of the tiles are very rich, while this one has only a single theme.

Thanks for the feedback.

Things to improve: Right now there's a pretty sharp transition from the flat diagonal lines of the tile above it to the furry tiger stripes... It's not bad enough that there's a "seam", but I think it'd look better if you continued more of the flat color and pattern throughout the tile, rather then going straight into fur. Also the bottom edge of the tiger's face should have been a little lower to give the person on the tile below it something more to blend into, even though it looks like it's going to be the bottom tile it's a good habit to always make the edges interesting.

Things that are good: Very realistic, especially the tigers nose and eyes...the painting as a painting looks great. And you painted over the empty edges so your tile won't have an evil 1px line! Very good for a 2nd tile!

Thank you very much for the feedback ... exactly what I was after. Your criticisms are spot on, and very welcome.

I will try to improve my "tile-ishness" on the one I'm currently doing, though I already have one in the pipe that doesn't really challenge the surrounding tilers much.
