Yeah. I had a hard time deciding whether to desaturate the image a bit or not. My intention was to create a mood and feel that is not typical in 3D scenes. They tend to be either too dark, or too muted. I actually uploaded an updated image that had a white border to help balance it out. The black border makes the image seem darker and more saturated than it actually is. I also took out the dude because it is too distracting. I guess the new dropbox interface didn't recognize the subsequent uploads. Oh, well.

damn tin, that was my fault, I copied the web dropbox pics over the ftp dropbox ones. I can switch the image online if you want though.

Hehe. By "bottom", do you mean the color towards the bottom of the image, or the color of the dude's butt?

Oy! Don't rely on Global Illumination for fixing your lighting. You should be able to get very very very close through Local Illumination renderers. If you have access to a GI renderer, go for it, but don't let the renderer do all the work. :)

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. It was pretty tricky to get the lighting situated to give the impression of the main light source illuminating the entire room - AND reflecting off of the red and yellow carpeting and affecting the walls around it. It was a good exercise, and I'm pretty happy with the results.
