That definitely would be my time frame. I'm not sure if I was in ACiD or iCE at that particular moment, as I crossed over at some point, but that was so long ago. I lost touch with Tempus a couple years after I stopped ANSi, and last spoke to Rad Man like 3 or more years ago.
But I stopped doing ANSi after I upgraded my CGA card on my XT to Super VGA on a 486. ;) Not immediately, but high-res hi-color graphics had a stronger hold on me.

btw Chris, I never told you how much I loved your "Gangland Chicago" ansi of the orc with the weapon. Warhammer 40k was fun :)

I remember the ansi. I didn't remember who did it or what board it was for, but I remember spending a long time looking at it and admiring it. It definitely inspired me.

Wow. Thanks, man.
It's hard to imagine how LOCAL we were back then. Paying long distance to leave messages on boards out of your AC. And now everyone in the world can converge here and chat. ^__^
Me? I wonder if the ANSi artists we all know and love continued their art in some other way. Like, is Marshal Law painting up these huge canvases, is Jeb making a Saturday morning cartoon.. what? :) Last december I started up an online comic book type thing. It's called Dedos and it's about elves and magic and stuff. If you want to see what I'm up to, feel free to check it out: http://dedos.fantasylair.com

That's an interesting question. I think a lot of older artists just stopped doing art and moved on to other things. I talked to Tempus recently and I think he's working at an ISP (but don't hold me to that). But I imagine many others still do artwork in other forms. I really enjoyed looking at Dedos, that's really cool.

I have been admiring the scene since 1989 also. I didn't become a member of an art group until 98. I had to wait until I was good enough to get into ice because I didn't want to be a member of any other group. :)
Some people still make ansi art, but it only turns up in the pack every few months or so. I have been toying with the idea of making one, but it's been 5 or 6 years since my last attempt.

I remember the packs of 1992. I joined ice in late 1993, and I've been here since then :) Tempus rules, I met him around 1994 I guess.
