theres a link to an uncompressed version which looks a lot better. please look at that one instead and maybe your eyes wont hurt looking at the blurry red.

No one compressed the hell out of it on purpose. Red just happens to compress REALLY REALLY badly. Try testing it out by putting some fat red text on a black background and then change the same text to blue. Not only will the red version have a larger filesize, but it will look blurry as crap. The blue will be smaller and look better.
